SPARTANBURG, SC (04/14/2025)– Julia Guzman, of York, SC, was recently inducted as a member of Psi Beta, the national psychology honor society. To be inducted, students must have maintained a grade point average of 3.25 or higher, completed a minimum of 12 academic hours, and earned a B average or better Psychology 101 and/or Psychology 201. Students are also required to exhibit a high standard of personal behavior and integrity
Students were recognized at an induction ceremony held on the Spartanburg Methodist College campus.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
