FORT MILL, SC — In honor of Earth Day, the Anne Springs Close Greenway is rolling out a week of nature-themed events from April 7 to April 13, offering the community an opportunity to connect with the outdoors through fun, educational, and engaging activities.
On Tuesday evening, guests can relax with a peaceful outdoor yoga session, followed by a mid-day “Reset Yoga” class on Wednesday. Budding paddlers can also join a Kids’ Kayaking Clinic that same day.
Weekend festivities kick off Friday, April 11, with an Earth Day Campout, giving families and outdoor enthusiasts a chance to spend the night under the stars. That evening, live music will be featured at the Greenway Canteen, setting the tone for a festive weekend.
On Saturday, April 12, the celebration continues with another night of camping and music. Volunteers are invited to join the Second Saturday of Service to assist with trail maintenance. Those looking to deepen their involvement in Greenway care can attend the Trailkeepers 201 workshop.
The week-long celebration wraps up on Sunday, April 13, with a Youth & Adult Bass Fishing Tournament, followed by a Trailkeepers and Invasive Invaders workshop focused on protecting native ecosystems. The event concludes with a special performance from the Catawba Nation Traditional Drum & Dance, highlighting the area’s rich cultural history.
Throughout the week, the Greenway Canteen will be open, providing refreshments and a welcoming spot for attendees to gather and unwind.
