SOUTH CAROLINA — High school seniors across South Carolina are encouraged to apply for the Ride of Your Life Scholarship, offered by the South Carolina State Fair, as the application deadline of March 15, 2025, quickly approaches. Now in its 28th year, the scholarship program continues to provide financial support for students pursuing higher education. Applications can be submitted online.
This year, the scholarship program has expanded, offering 53 scholarships, an increase from previous years. The additional funding is made possible through generous contributions from Circle K stores and EMC Tickets, with Circle K donating $37,000 to add three more scholarship opportunities.
For students pursuing a four-year degree, each scholarship recipient will receive $10,000, distributed as $2,500 per academic year over four years. Those enrolling in two-year programs will receive $2,500 annually for two years. The funds can be used at any accredited South Carolina college or university for tuition, books, computers, and on-campus housing.
To qualify, applicants must meet criteria based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, communication skills, and financial need. Scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and complete at least 30 credit hours per year to continue receiving funds.
Since its establishment in 1997, the Ride of Your Life Scholarship has become a key community outreach initiative of the South Carolina State Fair. Over $5 million in scholarships have been awarded in the past 28 years, reinforcing the fair’s commitment to education and community development.
