Loyd Hollis, 88, Lancaster, SC

Mr. Lloyd Elmore Hollis, 88, of Lancaster passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025 at his home. He was born February 18, 1936 in Lancaster, a son of the late John Clayton Hollis and Annie Mae Jacobs Hollis.

Mr. Hollis was a collector and saw the value in things that looked like they were worth nothing. He had a green thumb and could grow anything when it came to gardening. Mr. Hollis was a craftsman and could make something out of nothing.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Hollis will be private.

Mr. Hollis is survived by his wife, Billie Roddey Hollis; a son, Michael Lloyd Hollis of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Tiffany Gainer and Clay Rollings; four great grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Stewart Jernigan. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Hollis Rollings; and two brothers, J.C. Hollis, Jr. and Harold Hollis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster at 901 West Meeting Street – St. 201, Lancaster SC 29720.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching.
