Local angler Greg Clayton of York, S.C. landed an impressive 5th place finish in the co-angler division at the Bass Fishing League tournament held on Lake Murray this past Saturday. Clayton brought in three bass weighing a total of 8 pounds and 9 ounces, earning him a respectable $334 in prize money.

While Lucas Murphy of Lexington, S.C., took home the top prize with a five-bass limit weighing 26 pounds, 10 ounces, Clayton’s performance demonstrates the strong angling talent present in York County.

The Bass Fishing League, known for its competitive tournaments across the United States, attracts anglers of all skill levels. Clayton’s success in this event highlights his dedication and skill in the sport.

The next Bass Fishing League tournament is scheduled for February 15, 2025, at Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Georgia.
