Clover Welcomes World’s First Fully Solar-Powered Domino’s Location

CLOVER, S.C. — Domino’s is breaking new ground in Clover, South Carolina, with the opening of its first location in the world to operate on such a significant scale of solar power.

This innovative franchise, located at 119 Alden Oaks Street, features solar panels on its roof and wood-grain panels adorned with the Domino’s logo that double as solar collectors. Even the parking lot lights are powered by the sun. The lot also includes two electric vehicle charging stations, available for customers when not in use by delivery vehicles.

While Domino’s locations in Australia have implemented solar power systems to reduce energy consumption, Ryan Swanson, vice president of marketing and restaurant development for York County Domino’s, noted that the Clover location sets a new standard. It is the first to combine solar parking lights, solar panels integrated into the building’s exterior, and a fully solar-paneled roof.

The Clover location opened with limited hours on Thursday and begins regular operations on Friday. With its eco-friendly design and innovative features, the new Domino’s is poised to set a shining example for sustainable dining in the area and beyond.
