Carowinds is set to transform into a massive winter wonderland for its annual WinterFest celebration, returning on November 28th. The immersive holiday event, nominated for a 2024 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Award, promises a mix of signature thrills, dazzling lights, and the festive scents of holiday treats.
New Attractions and Expanded Access
The 2025 event features new live shows, interactive attractions, and a debut Christmas Village. This new village will serve as the location for WinterFest’s 70-foot Christmas tree, which will feature a nightly lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., as well as an Artisan Village.
WinterFest will be open on select days from November 28 to January 3, running from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. This season offers extended access to rides, including the park’s new family launch coaster, Snoopy’s Racing Railway in Camp Snoopy. For adventurous guests, the park will operate 29 total attractions and popular roller coasters like Thunder Striker and Fury 325.
Entertainment and Culinary Offerings
Live entertainment is a major focus, with a total of eight live shows, including three brand-new productions: The Wisemen, Storytime with Mrs. Claus, and Snoopy’s Jingle Jam Dance Party.
Guests can enjoy an expanded holiday menu curated by the Carowinds culinary team, featuring 33 exclusive seasonal menu items. Offerings range from hot chocolate cupcakes and cinnamon pull-apart bread to traditional favorites like carved ham and turkey, available across eight locations.
The season will conclude with New Year’s Eve at WinterFest on December 31st, when the park will be open from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m., featuring a special countdown, fireworks, and family-friendly festivities.
