LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — A 38-year-old Lancaster man was killed Tuesday evening in a multi-vehicle crash involving a bicycle, an SUV, and a tractor-trailer, according to officials.
The collision occurred around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, on South Carolina Highway 522 near the intersection with Firewood Road, just east of the city of Lancaster.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the bicyclist was traveling south on Highway 522, sharing the lane with a southbound 2007 Honda CRV. Troopers stated that the Honda struck the bicycle from behind. The force of the impact pushed the bicyclist into the northbound lane, directly into the path of an oncoming 2013 Peterbilt tractor-trailer.
The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Daniel Parker, 38, of Lancaster. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities confirmed that neither the driver of the Honda CRV nor the driver of the tractor-trailer was injured. Both drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles.
The crash remains under active investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol. As of Wednesday, no charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
