Orchard Park Elementary Awarded $10,000 Fitness Equipment Makeover

FORT MILL, SC — Orchard Park Elementary has been selected as one of five schools nationwide to receive a $10,000 physical activity equipment makeover through a collaboration between the American Heart Association and the National Football League (NFL) Foundation. The award is part of the Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge programs, which provide students with opportunities to improve their physical health while learning lifesaving skills such as Hands-Only CPR.

Schools participating in the Heart Challenge programs during the 2024–25 school year were eligible for prize drawings sponsored by the NFL. The $10,000 award will be used to update Orchard Park’s physical activity equipment, giving students more opportunities to stay active and build healthy habits.

“Orchard Park is incredibly grateful to be the recipient of this grant,” said Principal Matthew Johnson. “We are grateful to partner with the America Heart Association and Kids Heart Challenge as we teach students the importance of heart health and physical activity. Our school community can’t wait to see the gym make-over when it is complete.”
