Four Sumter County men face multiple animal fighting and conspiracy charges after a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division investigation led to the rescue of 19 dogs.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division charged four Sumter County men in connection with a dogfighting investigation that led to the rescue of 19 dogs, according to SLED.
Andrew Jeffrey Bryant Jr., 39, Tevin V. Joyner, 32, and Orlando Raynell Coullette, 49, were each charged Thursday, Sept. 17, with criminal conspiracy, four counts of animal fighting or baiting, and four counts of ill treatment of animals, according to SLED.
Robert Brandon Hansley, 44, was charged with criminal conspiracy, presence at a facility of animal fighting or baiting as a first offense, four counts of animal fighting or baiting, and four counts of ill treatment of animals, according to SLED.
All four men were booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County, according to SLED.
The 5th Circuit Solicitor’s Office will prosecute the case, according to SLED. The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and the Sumter Police Department assisted SLED with the arrests, according to SLED.
