Fury 325 at Carowinds has once again been named the world’s best steel roller coaster, extending its record-setting winning streak to 10 consecutive years.
The popular coaster received the honor Saturday, Sept. 12, during the 2026 Golden Ticket Awards in Austin, Texas. The latest victory follows Fury 325’s ninth consecutive win in 2025 and further establishes the ride as one of the most recognized steel coasters in the world.
Fury 325 is billed as the tallest, fastest and longest giga coaster in North America. Its 1.25-mile track crosses the North Carolina-South Carolina state line, with each ride lasting approximately 3 minutes and 15 seconds.
The latest award comes after several significant closures in recent years. In 2023, Fury 325 was temporarily shut down after a crack was discovered in one of its support beams. The ride remained closed for several months while repairs were completed before reopening following a final inspection.
The coaster also experienced another brief closure this summer after Carowinds identified an issue involving the ride’s foundation. Fury 325 reopened approximately one week later following foundation-related repairs.
Despite those interruptions, the coaster continues to attract riders and recognition, with its latest Golden Ticket Award marking a decade of consecutive victories in the steel roller coaster category.
