Silfab Solar will temporarily idle production at our Fort Mill facility beginning Wednesday, Aug. 5, to resume Tuesday, Aug. 11, due to temporary constraints affecting the availability of certain materials and components required for production.
The temporary idling affects production operations on the facility’s module and cell lines; shipping, customer service and other operations will continue during this period. Silfab expects production to resume following the temporary idling period.
During this time, Silfab will complete facility maintenance and upgrades, including preventive maintenance of production equipment, commissioning of the site chiller and HVAC system, maintenance and improvements to the air compressor system and piping system retesting.
Temporary idling can occur in manufacturing for a variety of reasons, such as supply delays, workflow bottlenecks and scheduled maintenance.The temporary idling is unrelated to Thursday’s York County Council meeting or recent community discussions regarding zoning matters
