Lancaster Authorities Investigate Fatal Driveway Shooting

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal Sunday night shooting on Old Camden Road that left a 23-year-old man dead.

Deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the 300 block of Old Camden Road at approximately 9:47 PM on May 24, 2026. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a male victim lying in a residential driveway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Although the victim still had a pulse and was breathing, he later succumbed to his injuries after being transported by Lancaster County Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital. Lancaster County Coroner Karla Deese identified the deceased as Jaheim Crawford-Hood and noted that an autopsy is scheduled for later this week.

Violent crime and crime scene investigators deployed to the area to secure evidence and interview neighbors. Preliminary findings indicate that the victim and several other individuals were standing outside the residence when a vehicle sped past the property.

Gunshots were subsequently exchanged between the occupants of the car and the individuals gathered in the yard. Crawford-Hood was the only person struck by the gunfire, though investigators noted that two vehicles parked at the scene were also hit by bullets.

Sheriff’s officials stated that the shooting does not appear to be a random act of violence. No suspects have been publicly identified or arrested, and authorities are urging anyone with information—which can be provided anonymously—to contact investigators immediately.
