COLUMBIA, S.C. — Athletes from across the York County region competed this weekend at the All American Track Classic, hosted by Spring Valley High School in Columbia over two days. The meet drew hundreds of athletes from schools across the Carolinas and beyond, giving local programs a chance to test themselves against some of the region’s best competition.
Fort Mill
Fort Mill’s strongest performances came in the distance and relay events. The Yellowjackets won the boys 4×800 relay with a time of 7:50.63, edging Lexington by less than two seconds in what was the fastest team time of the day in that event. In the girls mile, Marlee Cook and Lauren Allen both contributed, finishing 25th and 26th respectively in the championship section. Cook also placed 43rd in the girls 800 meters at 2:24.97. Mia Williams turned in a strong sprint performance, finishing 13th in the championship 100 meter final at 12.45. Connor Demmerle and Finn Leckrone each competed in the boys championship mile, finishing 23rd and 30th. Hudson Haley contributed a time of 2:00.87 in the boys 800 meters. Wyatt Gremillion posted a 58.16 in the boys 400 meter hurdles.
Nation Ford
The Falcons showed depth across multiple events. Alex Royall ran a 4:33.43 in the championship mile final while Robert Saddler ran 2:05.14 in the boys 800 and backed that up with a 5:02.42 in the invitational mile. Freshman Michael Mielke Jr. was one of the strongest field performers from any local school, throwing 152 feet, 9 inches in the discus for seventh place overall. Addison Eastley placed 63rd in the girls 800 at 2:29.14 and Haley Garcia competed in the girls championship mile, finishing 65th at 5:32.55.
Catawba Ridge
The Copperheads showed particular strength in the throwing events and middle distances. Michael Stinson took 6th in the boys championship discus with a throw of 160 feet, 4 inches, while Brody Rivard placed 8th at 150 feet, 3 inches. Rivard also placed 19th in the shot put at 46 feet, 1 inch. William Kowalski ran 1:59.43 in the boys 800. Isabella Cardozo placed 15th in the girls 800 at 2:18.98 and also competed in the girls championship mile. Evelyn Utley placed 19th in the girls discus at 104 feet, 9 inches. The girls 4×100 team placed 17th at 49.80 and the girls 4×400 placed 27th at 4:23.70.
Rock Hill
Rock Hill’s standout performer was Aidan Graham, who swept the boys throwing events with a first place finish in the shot put at 60 feet, 3.75 inches and a runner up finish in the discus at 175 feet, 3 inches, making him one of the top field athletes in the entire meet. On the track, Jaderion Moore ran a 49.28 in the boys 400 meters and Devan Erby contributed in both the 200 and 400. The boys 4×100 relay placed 7th at 42.59. Adalyn Newberry competed in the girls 800 at 2:29.78 and Irene Grubbs placed 30th in the girls discus at 93 feet, 4 inches.
South Pointe
South Pointe was paced by Keller Brown in the distance events, who placed 14th in the boys championship mile at 4:20.40 and 17th in the championship 1600 en route at 4:18.75, making him one of the stronger distance runners among local schools. Devin Isley reached the boys 100 meter final, finishing 3rd at 10.53. Jett Shelton ran 2:03.59 in the boys 800 and Jayden Finney posted a 2:04.47. Reece Adams ran 4:29.89 in the championship 1600 en route. The boys 4×400 relay placed 27th at 3:35.44. Emma Kate Brown competed in the girls championship mile, finishing 70th at 5:39.22.
Northwestern
Northwestern had one of the strongest individual performances among local schools in the hurdles. Andrew Morton placed 4th in the boys championship 110 meter hurdles final at 14.65 and also ran the 400 meter hurdles, finishing 16th at 58.30. Xavier Wright-Meeks placed 3rd in the boys triple jump at 45 feet, 4.75 inches and 7th in the long jump at 22 feet, 8 inches, turning in one of the best multi-event field performances in the meet. Malik Ratliff cleared 6 feet, 4 inches in the boys high jump for a 7th place tie. Kamerin Mcfadden also competed in the long jump. Irie Morton placed 4th in the girls championship javelin at 119 feet, 5 inches and also competed in the shot put and discus. The boys 4×800 relay placed 24th at 8:33.78.
York
York was represented by Ava Shook in the distance events. Shook placed 19th in the girls 800 at 2:20.14 and 12th in the girls championship mile at 5:10.63, making her one of the stronger distance performers among local schools. Ellis Spencer also competed for York in the boys mile, finishing 94th at 4:45.44.
Clover
Clover fielded athletes across multiple events. Dylan Kozel competed in the boys 200 meters. Alex Bohlen ran 4:32.85 in the boys championship mile and Chase Hensley posted a 4:42.20. Ethan Solomon ran the invitational mile in 4:29.36, placing 3rd in that section. Ava Jagielski placed 49th in the girls 800 at 2:25.89 and Ella Nighbor placed 8th in the girls championship mile at 5:09.30. Kaya Best ran 2:36.46 in the girls 800. In the field, Jay’twon Croom placed 20th in the boys javelin at 129 feet and Amayia Mayfield placed 8th in the girls javelin at 113 feet, 11 inches. Jeremiah Farmer competed in the boys triple jump. The boys 4×800 relay placed 16th at 8:14.53 and the girls 4×400 placed 21st at 4:19.98. McKinley Johnson competed in the girls invitational mile. Josias DeJacimo ran the boys invitational 3200.
Indian Land
Indian Land was represented by Tavian Daniels in the boys 400 meters, where he finished 15th at 49.22, and Jaylen Royster in the 200 meters. Kent Perry competed in the boys shot put, placing 18th at 46 feet, 2.25 inches, and 31st in the discus at 129 feet, 2 inches. Curtis Sullivan also placed 27th in the shot put at 44 feet, 6 inches. Cameron Robinson competed in the boys long jump.
Riverwalk Academy
Riverwalk Academy had several athletes compete across field events and distance races. Hunter Willis placed 66th in the boys championship mile at 4:34.99 and also competed in the championship 1600 en route. August Farrand ran the boys 800 and both the invitational 1600 en route and invitational mile. Joshua Cunupp competed in the boys shot put and discus. John Parrish competed in both throwing events as well. Brayden Dawkins ran the boys invitational 400 meters, finishing 43rd at 55.20. Eriana Currence competed in the girls shot put and discus. Kyran Kelly ran the boys invitational 400 and 800 meters.
