Carowinds Announces Expansive 2026 Event Lineup for 53rd Season

Carowinds has unveiled an ambitious 2026 calendar featuring a blend of new interactive attractions and returning cultural festivals. The park officially kicks off its 53rd season with a passholder preview on March 13, followed by the general public opening on March 14.

The 2026 schedule reflects a strategic shift toward year-round engagement. A significant addition to the spring lineup is Scream Break, running from April 3 to April 12. This event introduces a haunted attraction, “The Conjuring: Beyond Fear,” providing a horror experience six months ahead of the traditional Halloween season. Following this, the Viva La Fiesta festival returns from April 17 to May 17 to celebrate Latin culture through themed entertainment and cuisine.

As temperatures rise, Carolina Harbor Waterpark is slated to open on May 23. New for the summer is the SPLASH! Water Parade, an interactive event featuring floats and water-soaking zones. Additionally, the Bands in Residence series will showcase local musical talent from June 13 to August 9. The park will also host a massive fireworks display on July 3 and 4 to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The autumn season begins September 11 with the return of SCarowinds, complemented by the family-oriented Tricks and Treats daytime festival. A new Oktoberfest celebration will follow in November, offering German-themed food and craft beers.

The year concludes with WinterFest, running from late November through January 3, 2023. The season finale features a New Year’s Eve countdown and fireworks show on December 31. Access to these special events is included with a 2026 Gold Season Pass, though officials noted that all dates remain subject to change.
