CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Citadel has announced its top honors for the Fall 2025 semester, recognizing two cadets from York County on the college’s most distinguished list.
Holden Shellnutt of Rock Hill and Olivia Helfrich of Fort Mill were named to the President’s List, an award that signifies the highest level of performance in both academic rigor and military duty.
A Dual Honor
The President’s List is widely considered one of the most difficult achievements for a member of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. To qualify, a student must simultaneously earn a spot on the Dean’s List for academic achievement and the Commandant’s Distinguished List for military performance.
According to the college, the list is composed of cadets who “contribute the most to their companies while maintaining excellent military and academic records.”
