CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Citadel has awarded Gold Stars to a large group of cadets and students from the York, Lancaster, and Chester county areas for the Fall 2025 semester, recognizing superior academic performance.
Gold Stars are one of the institution’s highest academic honors. To qualify, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.7 or higher during the semester. All recipients of Gold Stars are also automatically placed on The Citadel’s Dean’s List.

About The Citadel
Located in Charleston, The Citadel offers a classic military college education focused on leadership excellence and academic distinction. The South Carolina Corps of Cadets consists of approximately 2,300 members who live and study in a military environment. While military service is not mandatory, about one-third of graduates earn commissions as officers in the U.S. Armed Forces.
