Suspect Arrested in Early Morning Fort Mill Shooting

FORT MILL, S.C. – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal early morning shooting in Fort Mill off Carowinds Boulevard.

Duan Ralphielle Partlow, 46, of Sharon, S.C., was taken into custody around 9:30 a.m. on Old York Road in York, S.C., approximately four hours after he is believed to have shot a person behind a business on Foothills Way.

The shooting took place at approximately 5:30 a.m. following an argument between Partlow and the victim that escalated into violence. The victim later died at the hospital. Partlow faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

“The outstanding and relentless police work by our deputies to identify this individual as a suspect and apprehend him in just a few hours is exemplary,” said Sheriff Tony Breeden. “It also demonstrates our commitment to protecting our citizens and victims in York County.”

The York County Coroner’s Office will release further information about the victim at a later time.

This marks the first homicide investigation of 2025 in York County. Detectives are continuing their investigation. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the York County Sheriff’s Office.
