Fort Mill Sweeps Y.C. Winborn Pre-Season Invitational

Rock Hill, SC – The Fort Mill High School track and field teams delivered a resounding performance at the Y.C. Winborn Pre-Season Invitational 25, securing both the boys’ and girls’ team championships. The boys’ team amassed an impressive 147.5 points, comfortably outpacing second-place Nation Ford (115 points) and third-place Rock Hill (111 points). The girls’ team was even more dominant, racking up 187.83 points, a substantial lead over South Pointe (97 points) and Clover (95 points).

The individual results painted a detailed picture of the day’s competition. Fort Mill’s success was driven by strong performances across the board. On the boys’ side, Jahzir Mccants took first in the 200m (23.16) and second in the 100m, while Isaac Campbell demonstrated his endurance with wins in the 1600m (4:37.43) and 3200m (9:52.12). Connor Demmerle also contributed significantly, winning the 800m (2:02.56). The Fort Mill boys also took first in the 4x800m and 4x400m relays. The girls’ team also excelled, with Mia Williams winning the 200m (25.91), long jump (18-00.53), and triple jump (37-03.64). Alivia Cleveland won the 1600m (5:17.05), and Marisa Jones won the high jump (5-02.99). Kaelynn Fleming won the 400m hurdles (1:11.63), and Bela Grupp won the pole vault (8-11.87). The Fort Mill girls also won the 4x800m relay.

Nation Ford High School also had strong showings. Chandler Hunter won the boys’ 400m (51.64), Neale Johnson won the boys’ 400m hurdles (56.00), Anderson Corbett won the boys’ long jump (19-05.46), Patrick McCleod won the boys’ shot put (55-09.68), and Lucas Barz won the boys’ javelin (157-01.43). Gabriela Brailsford won the girls’ 400m (1:01.28), and the Nation Ford girls won the 4x400m relay.

Rock Hill High School’s Aidan Graham won the boys’ discus (173-07.07), and Dashawn Anderson won the boys’ triple jump (40-05.04). Hayden Varnadore won the boys’ pole vault (10-11.89). Khamoni Rockeymore-Crews won the girls’ 100m (13.04).

South Pointe High School’s Malik Ratliff won the boys’ high jump (6-04.77), and the South Pointe girls won the 4x100m relay. Da’Nasha Erby won the girls’ javelin (112-06.39).

Catawba Ridge High School’s Joshua Dobson won the boys’ 100m (11.26), and the Catawba Ridge boys won the 4x100m relay.

Indian Land High School’s Christian Butts won the boys’ 110m hurdles (17.53).

Clover High School’s Mackenzie Boggess won the girls’ 100m hurdles (16.58), Ella Nighbor won the girls’ 3200m (11:22.77), and Amayia Mayfield won the girls’ shot put (30-01.81).

York High School’s Ava Shook won the girls’ 800m (2:21.80), and Anna Sizemore won the girls’ discus (93-05.26).

These individual victories, along with the team results, highlighted the depth of talent and the competitive spirit present at the Y.C. Winborn Pre-Season Invitational 25.
